FluencyTap Privacy Policy

FluencyTap (“the app”, listed as Running Record & ORF Calc) is developed by
Neobile LLC. This policy explains what happens to data when you use FluencyTap.
The short version
FluencyTap does not collect your data — or your students’
data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and the app makes
no network requests. Assessment results, student labels, passages, and notes stay on your device.
The only online interaction is Apple’s own App Store purchase system.
Student data, by design
- Minimal identifiers: the student field is labeled “First name or
initials” and the app recommends initials. FluencyTap never asks for full names, birth
dates, IDs, photos, or contact information.
- Local only: student profiles, assessment records, and trend charts are
stored in the app’s private database on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere.
- You control every export: PDF reports and CSV files are created only when
you ask for one and leave the device only through the iOS share sheet you choose. Temporary
export files use complete file protection and are removed after sharing.
- Your responsibility: educators remain responsible for following their
school or district’s data-handling policies for anything they export or share. FluencyTap
makes no regulatory compliance claims (it is a calculator and record-keeping tool, not a
compliance service).
Camera and text scanning
The camera is used only for the optional “scan a passage” feature. Text recognition
runs entirely on your device; camera images are processed in memory and are never stored or
transmitted. Only the recognized text is kept, and only if you choose to save it.
Face ID app lock
The optional app lock uses Apple’s LocalAuthentication system. FluencyTap never sees your
biometric data; Apple’s system only tells the app whether unlocking succeeded.
Purchases
Optional saved-workflow upgrades are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account.
FluencyTap never sees your payment details. Subscriptions can be managed or canceled in your App
Store account settings.
What FluencyTap never does
- No accounts, no sign-in, no cloud sync.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, no advertising, no tracking.
- No network requests of any kind from the app.
- No bundled reading passages and no reproduction of published norm tables — you bring
your own materials and benchmark targets.
