StudyTape Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

StudyTape (“the app”, formerly My EchoNote) is developed by Neobile LLC. This policy explains what happens to data when you use the app.

The short version

StudyTape does not collect your data. There is no account, no server, no analytics service, no advertising and no tracking. Your recordings, transcripts and study sets are made and kept on your device. Nothing you record or write is uploaded to us or to anyone else.

What stays on your device

The one network download

On recent iOS versions the app asks iOS to download Apple’s English speech model once, so transcripts can be written on the device. That download comes from Apple; it carries none of your recordings or text.

Microphone and speech recognition

iOS asks for permission before the app can use the microphone or speech recognition. The microphone is used only while you record a lecture. You can change either permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Sharing and export

A transcript, flashcards, audio or a share card leaves your device only when you choose to export or share it, and only to the place you pick in the iOS share sheet. Audio you share into StudyTape from another app is copied into the app’s own storage on your device.

Purchases

Optional upgrades are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. StudyTape never sees your payment details. Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled in your App Store account settings.

Deleting your data

Delete a lecture from its page or from the lecture list to remove its recording, transcript and cards; Settings → Storage shows how much space the audio uses. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored.

What StudyTape never does

Children

The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new date.
