TrueColors Privacy Policy

TrueColors ("the app") is developed by Neobile LLC. This policy explains what happens to your photo and data when you use TrueColors.

The short version

TrueColors does not collect your data. There is no account, no server, no analytics, and no advertising. Your selfie is analyzed entirely on your device and is never uploaded anywhere — the app makes no network calls to send or store your photo.

What TrueColors stores, and where

Saved analyses (your season, the derived skin/hair/eye colors, the written explanation, and a downscaled photo) are stored in a local database on your device only, using Apple's SwiftData framework.
A downscaled copy of your photo (reduced in size, kept on your device only) is stored so you can preview recommended hair colors on your own photo. It is never uploaded. The full-resolution original is not kept.
Notes you optionally add to a saved analysis are stored the same way.

On-device processing

Face and color analysis runs on your device using Apple's Vision and Core Image frameworks. The season classification itself is deterministic, rule-based color math — not a model guess — and never leaves your device.

The written explanation of your result is generated on your device. On an Apple-Intelligence iPhone (iOS 26), TrueColors uses Apple's on-device language model; on other devices, it uses a built-in, human-written description. In both cases, nothing about your photo or result is sent to Apple or anyone else.

Hair colour preview runs entirely on your device. It recolours the downscaled photo described above using Core Image, on-device, and is never uploaded.

Permissions

Camera — to take a selfie to analyze, only when you tap to capture.
Photo Library (optional) — only if you choose a photo from your library instead of using the camera; TrueColors only sees the single photo you pick.

You can change these any time in the Settings app. Denying a permission only limits the related way of providing a photo.

What TrueColors does NOT do

No account or sign-up of any kind.
No uploading of your photo, ever — analysis is 100% on-device.
No analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.
No tracking across apps or websites.
No attractiveness, beauty, or appearance rating of any kind — TrueColors only identifies which colors suit your natural coloring.
No data is sold, rented, or shared with third parties.

Purchases

In-app purchases (TrueColors Pro) are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store/StoreKit. The developer never receives your payment details; the app only learns whether you currently have an active purchase, validated on-device via StoreKit.

Children's privacy

TrueColors is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect data at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new "Last updated" date.
