Gram-first bowl math for professional colorists — help & frequently asked questions.
How do I turn a target bowl total into gram weights?
Open Bowl → Target Total, enter the complete bowl weight, choose the mixing ratio printed on your own product’s instructions (1:1, 1:1.5, 1:2, or a custom ratio), split your colors by percentage, and tap Calculate. Tap How Calculated to see the exact math with your figures substituted.
Why is there no ratio selected when I start?
On purpose. The app never recommends a developer ratio, strength, or processing time, so a new bowl starts with no ratio selected — you choose the one your product specifies. That also stops one product’s ratio from carrying into an unrelated formula.
What does Over-Pour Rescue do?
If you pour too much of one component, enter what is already in the bowl and the app calculates the proportional additions needed to bring every component back into the planned ratio. It only ever adds product — it never tells you to remove, discard, substitute, or change strength or timing.
Can I keep a client’s formula?
Yes. Record the actual amounts you poured and save them to a client alias. Next time, load that latest formula into Scale, Rescue, Cost, or a Timer. Unlimited client aliases and one latest formula each are always available, with no usage limit.
Does the timer keep running in the background?
Yes. A user-set processing timer survives backgrounding and relaunch, and (with your permission) posts a generic completion notification. The app never suggests a processing duration.
What do the purchases add?
Every calculator, unlimited clients with one latest formula each, one active timer, and JSON backup are free forever. The optional upgrade adds an immutable formula timeline, reusable templates, saved product cost profiles, up to four simultaneous timers, and PDF/CSV presentation export.
How do I restore my purchases?
Open More → Restore Purchases. Purchases restore on any device signed into the same Apple Account.
How do I change the language?
Go to More → Language. The app ships in English, Spanish, Japanese, German, and Portuguese (Brazil), and follows your device language by default.
Is my data private?
Yes. The app is fully offline, has no account, and collects no data. Read the Privacy Policy.
